US$25-B Samsung investments sa bansa – DTI

UMABOT sa mahigit US$25 bilyon ang pamumuhunan ng Samsung Electro-Mechanics Philippines
Corporation (SEMPHIL) sa bansa.


Ito ang pahayag ni Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual noong
Miyerkules.


Sa kanyang mensahe, sinabi ni Pascual na ang pamumuhunan ng SEMPHIL sa bansa ay labis na
nakatulong sa ating ekonomiya at sa pag-unlad ng mga industriya.


Ang Korean company ay nakapag-ambag ng US$80 bilyon sa export at nakalikha ng halos 7,000
trabaho nitong Enero 2023.


Itinatag ng SEMPHIL ang kanilang negosyo sa Calamba, Laguna noong Hulyo 1997 at nagsimulang gumawa ng multi-layer ceramic capacitors, tantalum capacitors, inductors at thick film chip resistors na karaniwang ginagamit sa electronic gadgets.

Ang pasilidad nito ay nasa Calamba Premiere International Park-Special Economic Zone, na
tahanan ng 126 export manufacturing firms, na may export na umaabot sa US$350 milyon kada
taon at may 18,000 kawani nitong Marso 2023. Idinagdag pa ng DTI na mayroong 244 South
Korean na kumpanya sa Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) sa buong bansa.
