Seguridad sa panahon ng Kuwaresma sa MM tiniyak ng PNP

TINIYAK ni Police Major General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., hepe ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), na magiging ligtas ang kuwaresma, partikular na ang pagdiriwang ng Sangkakristiyanuhan ng Semana Santa sa Kalakhang Maynila, kaninang umaga.

Ito ang tinuran ng heneral sa panayam ng mga miyembro ng NCRPO Press Association sa ginanap na ‘wedding and renewal of vows’ ng 53 PNP personnel sa St. Joseph Parish sa loob ng Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan sa Taguig City.

“Naka-hightened alert tayo sa panahon ng Kuwaresma at gagamitin natin ang mga resources natin tulad ng logistics at personnel,” ang pahayag ni Nartatez.

Idinagdag pa ni Nartatez na upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga mamamayan, idedeklara ng NCRPO ang Metro Manila sa heightened alert status.

“We will utilize all that and we will declare heightened alert,” dagdag pa ng NCRPO chief.

Ayon pa sa heneral, wala namang naiulat na banta batay sa kanilang monitoring kaugnay sa nalalapit na pagdiriwang ng Semana Santa.

“Ang lebel ng banta sa Metro Manila ay nasa pinakamababang antas, ngunit [siyempre], hindi tayo magiging kampante. Threat level 1 is the lowest level,” pagtitiyak ni Nartatez.

Sinabi pa ng NCRPO chief na hindi bababa sa 12,000 police officers ang ipapakalat sa buong Metro Manila upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga mananampalataya.

Samantala, umabot sa 53 miyembro ng NCRPO ang ‘ikinasal at nangakong muli’ sa kanilang asawa sa loob ng St. Joseph Parish kasabay ng ika-53 kaarawan ni General Nartatez at nagsilbi na ring Ninong sa nasabing “Kasalang Bayan.”
