Sen. Nancy, muling binanatan si Mariel

Ito ang naging pananaw ni Sen. Nancy Binay kaugnay nang nag-viral na post ni Mariel Padilla, asawa ni Sen. Robin, habang nagpapa-glutathione drip sa tanggapan ng kanyang mister sa Senado.

Dahil sa Instagram post ni Mariel nitong Peb. 21, nakatanggap siya nang matinding bashing mula sa netizens.

Umalma si Binay sa ginawa ni Mariel dahil sa opisina ng Senado ginawa ang proseso, walang abiso, at hindi aprubado ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval ang gluta drip.

Sinabi ng chair ng Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges na dapat naging responsible si Mariel sa kanyang endorsement, dahil bukod sa isa siyang public figure, asawa siya ng isang senador.

“Bilang celebrity ‘tapos asawa pa siya ng isang senador, dapat we should be aware ‘yung power natin to influence people,” ayon pa kay Binay sa isang radio interview.

Humingi ng paumanhin ang mag-asawa dahil sa nangyari. Palusot ni Robin, “My wife loves to promote good looks and good health.”

Giit ni Binay, “It’s not good health kasi wala siyang FDA approval… Sa akin din, ‘yung pagwa-whitening hindi rin batayan ng good looks, di ba?”

Suportado ng ilang netizens si Binay dahil kung pangit daw ang mga maiitim, hindi sana nananalo sa international beauty pageants ang mga Africans at black Americans.

Ayon pa sa isang netizen, mapanganib daw ayon sa DoH, ang gluta-drip. Binanggit niya ang ilang mga magagandang babae—na nai-feature sa programa ni Jessica Sojo sa GMA-7—na naging sobrang pangit dahil sa plastic surgery at labis na paggamit ng glutathione.
