UN rapporteur, binanatan ni Sen. Go

“Prinoprotektahan ng mga batas na ito ang mga Pilipino.”


Ito ang tugon ni Sen. Bong Go sa panawagan ni Irene Khan, United Nations (UN)
Special Rapporteur na i-repeal na ang Republic Act (RA) No. 11479 o Anti-Terror Law
at RA 10175 o Cybercrime Prevention Act.


Tinuligsa ni Go si Khan dahil sa pakikialam sa internal affairs ng bansa.


Nilinaw ni Go na dapat ikonsidera ni Khan na ang soberanya ng Pilipinas pati na ang
institusyong demokratiko sa ilalim ng batas na pinag-aralang mabuti para
maprotektahan ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino.


“These laws have safeguards and mechanisms to ensure that they are not abused or
misused by anyone. Most importantly, these measures have went [sic] through the
scrutiny of our legislature based on the collective wisdom of lawmakers, executive
agencies, subject matter experts and stakeholders who participated in the legislative
process,” ani Go.

Sinabi pa ng senador na dapat maging sensitibo si Khan mga sinasabi o aksyon niya na
nagbibigay ng negatibong pananaw sa Pilipinas at mga mamamayan nito.


“She should be fair, objective, and respectful in her work, or else she will compromise
her credibility and legitimacy as a UN rapporteur,” pagtatapos ni Go.
