Dahil sa Laguna jeepney accident, kailangan talaga ang PUVM—LTO

DALAWA ang namatay at 15 ang nasaktan sa isang jeepney na nawalan ng preno sa Nagcarlan, Laguna kamakailan.

Pinatutunayan lamang nito na talagang kailangang natin ang PUV modernization program sa bansa, ayon kay Asst. Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, hepe ng Land Transportation Office (LTO), nitong Linggo.

Ayon sa ulat ng pulisya, nawalan ng preno ang jeepney nitong Biyernes, kaya ito’y naaksidente.

“Marami nang katulad na insidente na nangyari noon at paulit-ulit lang ito kung hindi gagawa ng karampatang aksyon ang ating pamahalaan upang maging maayos ang transportasyon sa ating bansa,” ayon kay Mendoza.

Sa naunang pahayag, sinabi ni Secretary Jaime Bautista ng Department of Transportation na iaangat ng PUVMP ang antas ng kaligtasan at comfort ng mga mananakay na Pilipino.

Layunin ng PUVMP na iangat ang sistema ng land transportation sa bansa, palitan ang luma at tradisyunal na jeepneys ng modernong mini buses.
