Ipinakilala ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ang kauna-unahang babaeng tagapagsalita ng ahensya.

Mismong si AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., ang nagpakilala kay Lt. Col. Francel Margareth Padilla, bilang bagong spokesperson ng AFP.

Pinalitan ni Col. Padilla si Col. Medel Aguilar na nagsilbing tagapagsalita ng ahensya sa loob ng isa’t kalahating taon.

Binigyang diin naman ni Gen. Brawner na napapanahon ang pagkakatalaga kay Col. Padilla dahil nais patutukan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., ang isyu ng cybersecurity.

Si Col. Padilla ay naging finalist sa Cybersecurity Woman of 2023, at nagsilbi ring commander ng 7th Signal Battalion, Army Signal Regiment ng Philippine Army.
