Dahil sa patuloy na blackout sa Panay: ₱1.5-B mawawala sa Iloilo

MARIING kinondena ni Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas ang National Grid Corporation of
the Philippines (NGCP) dahil sa patuloy na blackout sa malaking bahagi ng Western
Visayas magmula pa nitong Martes.


“For the three days that we are going to suffer these brownouts due to the
incompetence of NGCP, Iloilo City is going to lose ₱1.5 billion,” ayon kay Treñas.


Sinabi ng NGCP na ang black-out ay dahil sa hindi naka-iskedyul na maintenance
shutdown dahil sa pagtigil ng operasyon ng power plants dahil sa “tripping” ng circuits
nito.


Hindi raw katanggap-tangap ito ayon kay Treñas dahil ito rin daw ang palusot ng NGCP
noong Abril 2023 nang mangyari ang blackouts.


Nitong nakaraang taon, nakaranas din ang Panay Island ng ilang araw na kawalan ng
kuryente dahil sa serious technical problems.

Idiniin ng mayor, “The multiple trippings of the power plants in Iloilo were caused by
the unstable transmission lines of the NGCP coming from Negros to Panay. It should
be noted that under the conditions that NGCP has agreed, these transmission lines
would have been developed and improved a long time ago.”


Samantala, sinabi ni Senador Raffy Tulfo, Chair, Committee on Energy na magpa-file
siya ng resolusyon para maimbistigahan ang power outage at papanagutin ang mga
taong sangkot dito.


Ganito rin ang sinabi ni Senador Win Gatchalian at sinabing magpapanukala siya ng
ilang polisiya para maiwasan na ang ganitong insidente na nakasisisira sa negosyo at
kabuhayan ng mga mamamayan sa lahat ng apektadong lugar.
