Red Cross namahagi ng humanitarian package sa Davao De Oro matapos ang lindol

MATAPOS yanigin ng 5.9 magnitude na lindol ang Davao De Oro noong Marso 7, kaagad na nagpadala ng mergency medical services (EMS) team ang Philippine Red Cross (PRC) na may dalang medical tents, food trucks, water tanker ang mga psychological first aid providers.

Sinabi ni Chairman Richard Gordon na maaasahan ng mga Pilipino ang Red Cross lalo na sa panahon ng krisis at hinikayat ang publiko na maging member ng PRC village-based Red Cross 143 volunteer system.

“Ang Red Cross po ninyo ay inyong maaasahan sa panahon ng sakuna, kaya naman inaasahan din namin na kayo ang aming maging mata at tainga, na magbibigay sa amin ng impormasyon ukol sa mga nangyayari sa inyong barangay. Magtulungan tayo para mapanatiling ligtas ang ating mga barangay,” ang pahayag ni Gordon.

Ang Hot Meals on Wheels ay nakapaghain ng arroz caldo sa 1,220 kato sa Manat Gymnasium na ginawang evacuation center sa Nabunturan gayundin ang Andap National High School evacuation center sa New Bataan.

Nag-set up din ng buffalo tank sa evacuation center na nakapagbigay ng 1,000 litro ng tubig, sapat para sa mabilisang pangangailangan ng mga pamilya na naghahanap ng matitirhan pansamantala.

Ang emergency unit naman ng PRC ay itinayo sa Davao De Oro Provincial Hospital upang makapaglaan ng agarang serbisyo medikal sa mga pasyente sa ospital.

Sa kasalukuyan, mayroon ng 48 pasyente ang inaasikaso sa nasabing medical tents. Umabot naman sa 76 katao ang natulungan sa kanilang mataas na presyon ng dugo.

Nakapagbigay din ng psychological first aid ang Welfare Team sa 62 mga adulto at 88 bata sa Andap National High School evacuation center.

Sa Manat Gymnasium evacuation center naman ay nakapamahagi ang Red Cross ng 35,000 litro ng tubig kung saan 6,000 indibiduwal ang nakinabang kasama na ang nasa Andap National High School, and New Leyte Elementary School, Maco.

Nakipag-ugnayan naman ang Red Cross sa Office of Civil Defense (OCD) sa Region XI at sa Davao De Oro Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office kaugnay sa nasabing lindol.
