9 namatay sa COVID-19 Vaccine

INIULAT ng Department of Health (DoH) na may siyam na katao ang namatay matapos
maturukan ng bakuna para sa Covid-19; kalahati rito ay dahil sa biglaang allergic reactions.
Ipinahayag nitong Martes ni Dr. Alethea De Guzman, chief, DoH epidemiology bureau, sa
House Committee on Public Order and Safety na sa mahigit 78 milyong mga tao na
binakunahan para sa Covid-19, siyam lamang ang namatay.


Iniimbistigahan ng panel ang diumano’y sobrang dami ng namatay sa Pilipinas noong 2021,
ayon sa datus ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).


Sinabi ni DoH Asst. Secretary Beverly Lorraine Ho na bahagi ng ginawang check-up bago
magbakuna ang screening para sa allergy. Mayroon din daw na medical kits sa lugar na
pagbabakuna para sa mga taong magkakaroon nang masamang reaksyon sa bakuna.
“Very transparent tayo in any product registration. Lahat may potential adverse event. That’s
why part ng screening natin bago ka babakunahan, kasama yun,” ayon kay Ho.

Ayon sa datos ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA), 78.4 million katao ang nabakunahan
kontra sa Covi-19 hanggang noong Marso 31, 2023. Sa bilang na ito, mahigit 23 milyon ang
nabakunahan ng booster shots.


Naiulat din ng FDA na112,450 mga tao ang nagkaroon ng masamang reaksyon sa bakuna. Sa
bilang na ito, 10,643 kaso ang nagkaroon ng seryosong kundisyon.


Sinabi ni Ho na dahil nag-expire na raw, hindi na sila kumuha ng extension permits, kaya hindi
na pwedeng gamiting ang mga expired na bakuna.
