Hepe ng DOT, LTO, pinuri vs. Anti-colorum drive

PINURI ng mga pangunahing transport group sina Transportation Sec. Jaime Bautista at
Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief Vigor Mendoza II dahil sa agresibong aksyon
laban sa mga kolurum na sasakyan.

Tinawag ang kanilang grupo na “Magnificient 7”. Sinabi ng grupo na dininig din ng
gobyerno ang maraming taon nilang panalangin para maaksyunan at matuldukan na ang
operasyon ng mga kolorum na sasakyan na nakaaapekto sa kita ng mga lehitimong
drayber at operator sa buong bansa.


“Inaasahan ng mga legitimate transport groups ‘yung nawawalang 30 percent sa aming
hanay ay mababawi [dahil] sa seryosong kiampanya nina ASec. Vigor Mendoza at Sec.
Jaime Bautista laban sa kolorum” saad ng grupo, sa isang opisyal na pahayag.

Nagpahayag si Mendoza nang pasasalamat sa transport groups dahil sa commitment nito
na maglaan ng “mystery colorum drivers” na ang tungkulin ay magbigay sa LTO ng
impormasyon kung ano ang nangyayari sa daan.


Samantala, nitong Linggo, iniutos ni Mendoza ang pag-alis sa pwesto ng anim na LTO
traffic enforcers at ang pagpa-file ng kasong criminal at administrtibo laban sa kanila na
pwedeng matuloy sa permanenteng pagkasibak sa pwesto.


Nauna na rito, iniutos ni Mendoza ang deployment ng “mystery applicants for driver’s
license and vehicle registration” para ma-check ang katiwalaan sa mga tanggapan ng
LTO. Naging epektibo raw ito, ayon pa kay Mendoza para matuldukan na ang fixers sa
ahensya.
