PAIIGTINGIN pa ng Pilipinas ang gagawing pagpapatrolya sa ating EEZ o exclusive economic
zone sa West Philippine Sea (WPS} sa harap nang agresibong maniobra ng Chinese Coast
Guard (CCG) at militia vessels nito laban sa ating resupply mission.


Sinabi ni Jonathan Malaya, asst. director-general ng National Security Council (NSC), dapat na
dagdagan pa ang maritime patrol kasunod nang paglobo ng bilang ng Chinese maritime militia
vessels sa Bajo de Masinloc (Scarborough Shoal), Ayungin Shoal, at Sabina (Escoda) Shoal.
“We are alarmed by the environmental degradation [that] our Coast Guard ships were able to
monitor in these areas,” saad Malaya.


Nagtangkang haranging muli ng CCG at militia vessels nito ang mga barko ng Pilipinas na
maghahati ng supply sa BRP Sierra Madre, nitong Linggo ng umaga. Nakita sa video na
ipinalabas ng ating coast guard na binangga ng Chinese vessel ang Unaizah May 2 at BRP
Cabra.

Kaugnay nito idiniin ni Malaya na hindi na kailangang magpaalam pa ng Pilipinas sa China sa
resupply mission nito sa WPS dahil sakop ng ating EEZ ang lugar.


Samantala, malapit nang dumaong sa Maynila ang carrier strike group sa pangunguna ng Ronald
Reagan aircraft carrier, bilang pagsuporta sa Pilipinas sa ginagawang pambu-bully ng China.
