Residente ng Tanay, nakinabang sa bagong solar energy

NAGSIMULA nang makinabang ang mga residente ng bulubunduking bahagi ng Tanay, Rizal partikular sa serbisyong medikal, matapos maglagay ang Manila Electric Company (Meralco) ng 3-kilowatt (kWp) solar photovoltaic (PV) system sa isang health center dito.


Ang health center, na matatagpuan sa Barangay Laiban ay nagseserbisyo sa mahigit 3,000 residente sa komunidad, kasali na ang tribong Dumagat.


Dahil sa solar power, ang mahahalagang kagamitang medikal ng ospital – gaya ng petal dropplers at nebulizers – ay magagamit na sa diagnosis at paggamot sa mga pasyente.


Ang solar power equipment ay donasyon ng mga kawani ng Meralco mula Customer Retail Services Group, na nagsagawa ng fund-raising para makabili nito.

Bukod pa sa proyektong ito, nagsagawa ang Meralco ng medical mission sa mga residente ng barangay, kasama ang mga volunteer doctors ng Department of Health, Tanay Municipal Health Office, at Marikina Valley Medical Center. Ang medical mission ay pinondohan ng Meralco Employees Fund for Charity Inc., Pascual Laboratories Inc., Lloyd Laboratories Inc., and Megasoft Hygienic Products, Inc.


Samantala, pinuri ni Meralco Sr. Vice President at Chief Revenue Officer Ferdinand Geluz ang proyekto at sinabing simula pa lang ito ng mga mas makabuluhang serbisyo-publiko.
