P1.7 Trilyon para sa infra projects sa Visayas

Baka tuluyan nang maibabaon sa limot ang anekdotang ito dahil sa patuloy na dumaraming
mga bagong trabaho na mabubuksan sa Visayas. Dahil dito, hindi na kailangang magpunta sa
Maynila ang mga Bisaya para makipagsapalaran.


Nakatakdang gumastos ang Marcos Administration ng P1.7 Trilyon o 34 percent ng 194 high-
impact priority projects sa Visayas, ayon sa Budget Department.


Ilaan dito ay ang Metro Cebu Expressway, New Dumaguete Airport Development Project,
Cebu Public Transport Modernization Project, Panay-Guimaras-Negros Inter-Island Link
Bridge, at Samar Pacific Coastal Road Project,

Idiniin ni Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno na mayroong malaking economic potential ang
Visayas sa turismo, IT, business process management o call centers, pati na renewable
energy.


Ayon sa Department of Energy, maaaring tanghalin ang Western Visayas bilang “renewable
energy capital” ng bansa, dahil sa malaking potensyal nito.


Ang konstruksyon at pagpapaganda ng Mactan-Cebu International Airport ay lalo raw
mapasisigla sa turismo pati na sa economic activity sa buong Visayas, ayon sa isang
ekonomista.
