VP Sara pinigilan ang take-over ng Taguig

PINIGILAN kahapon ni Vice President at DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte ang Taguig City
na isailalim sa kontrol nito ang 14 na paaralan na nasa 10 barangay na dating nasa
hurisdiksyon ng Makati City.


Inutusan ni Duterte ang Makati at Taguig na tumigil na para mabigyan ang DepEd
central office ng patiunang abiso kung may nais silang gawing activity sa 14 na
pinagtatalunang paaralan.

Positibong tumugon sina Makati Mayor Abby Binay at Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano at
sinabing susunod sila sa DepEd Order 23-2023 na naglalagay sa mga naturang
paaralan sa direct control ng ahensya.


Napigilan ng utos ni Duterte ang Taguig na kaagad isailalim sa hurisdiksyon nito ang
mga paaralan na matatagpuan sa EMBO o enlisted men’s barangays.


Ayon pa sa kalihim ng DepEd, lumikha nang lumalaking tensyon sa 14 na paaralan ang
utos ng Korte Supreme (KS) na naging dahilan para mapigilan ang tahimik at
mapayapang pagbubukas ng klase sa Agosto 29.

Kamakailan, hiniling ni Binay ang Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)
na utusan ang Taguig na kumuha muna ng “writ of execution” mula sa korte bago mag
take-over.


Sinabi ni Cayetano na hindi na ito kailangan, dahil sapat na ang utos ng KS.


Pero sinuportahan ng administrador ng KS si Binay at sinabing kailangang talaga ang
“writ of execution” mula sa lower court na unang naglabas ng desisyon.


Samantala, sinupla ng mga residente ng EMBO ang pahayag na ito ni Cayetano at
sinabing ito ay taliwas sa proseso ng batas

Kaugnay nito, sinabi Mark Christian Galang, chair, Federation of Makati Parent-Teacher
Associations, na sinusuportahan nila ang utos ni Duterte kasabay nang paghiling ng
“status quo” sa 14 na mga paaralan.
