KINUMPIRMA ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff Lt. Gen. Romeo
Brawner, na tuluyan nang ihihinto ang pagpapadala ng matataas na opisyal nito sa
China para magsanay.


Ito ay bilang tugon sa kahilingan ng ilang senador dahil sa lumalalang pambu-bully ng
China Coast Guard sa ating mga mangingisda at sa resupply missions sa Ayungin
Shoal.


Magmula noong 2004, ilalim ng defense cooperation agreement sa pagitan ng Pilipinas
at China, nagpapadala na tayo ng military officers sa China para mag-training sa military
facilities sa bansang ito.


Unang isiniwalat ni Senador Francis Tolentino – sa isang pagdinig sa Senado – na ang
ating gobyerno ay nagpapadala ng matataas na AFP officers sa China para mag-
training at mag-aral sa Beijing Military Academy. Kinumpirma ito ng isang DND
undersecretary.

Maaalalang sinabi ni Senador Raffy Tulfo na ito’y isang malaking insulto at sampal sa
bansa kaya dapat itigil na kaagad ito. Dahil daw sa utang na loob sa mga AFP officers
na nag-aral sa China, maaaring makumpormiso ang kanilang desisyon sakaling tumaas
pa ang tensyon sa pinag-aagawang teritoryo.


Kung tungkol sa planong joint China-Philippines military exercises, malabo na itong
