Cyber-criminals pinagbabantaan si Lala Sotto

ISINIWALAT ni MTRCB Vice Chair Nel de Mesa na lomobo ang bilang ng mga mensahe sa
kanilang official social media pages na nagbabanta laban kay MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto.


Ito ay magmula suspindihin ng 12 araw ng MTRCB o Movies and Television Review and
Classification Board ang noontime show na It’s Showtime.


Sinabi ni De Mesa na bukod sa death threats kay Sotto, nagbanta rin ng rape ang ilang netizens.


“No Filipino deserves such kind of unfounded personal attack. We must not resort to personal
attacks because our agency is just doing its mandate,” ayon kay Atty. Mamarico Sansarona Jr.,
executive director ng ahensya.


Sinusuportahan daw ng MTRCB ang anomang constructive criticism at pakikipag-dayalogo, pero
hindi ang anomang uri ng pagbabanta, pangha-harass, at violence, online man o maging sa
personal.


Idinagdag pa ni De Mesa na bukod sa ilegal ang ganitong gawain, ito ay taliwas sa prinsipyo na
itinataguyod ng MTRCB na naayon sa kagandahang-asal at mataas na pamantayang moral na
dapat sundin na mga nasa entertainment industry.

Samantala, ayon sa BraboNews research, matatandaang hinuli ng National Bureau of
Investigation (NBI) noong 2020 si Ronnel Mas, isang public school teacher, na nagpost sa social
media na “I will give P50 million reward kung sino man ang makakapatay kay Duterte.”


Ibinasura ng Olongapo City Prosecutors office ang tatlong magkakaibang kasong isinampa ng NBI
laban kay Mas dahil sa technicality at kakulangan nang sapat na ebidensya.


Sinabi naman ng isang retired news editor na dapat kasuhan at papanagutin ang mga nagbabanta
online kay Sotto, pati na rin sa iba pang personalidad, para huwag silang pamarisan.
