Taguig welcomes national law enforcement, reaffirms 24/7 zero-tolerance drug stance

TAGUIG City has reaffirmed its firm zero-tolerance policy against illegal drugs, welcoming legitimate operations by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP), and other authorized law enforcement agencies.

The city government said it is ready to coordinate with and support lawful anti-drug operations 24/7, emphasizing that all efforts to keep communities safe from illegal drugs are welcome.

From 2023 to August 20, 2026, consolidated data from the Taguig City Police and its drug enforcement units recorded 4,061 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 5,560 individuals.

Authorities also seized approximately 23,567 grams of shabu and 22,312 grams of marijuana, with 4,772 cases filed under Republic Act No. 9165.

Taguig has also received several recognitions for its anti-illegal drug campaign, including awards for outstanding police station performance, anti-drug operations, and the number of drug personalities arrested.

The city government acknowledged that illegal drugs remain a persistent challenge and stressed the importance of stronger coordination between local and national law enforcement agencies.

Taguig said it aims to serve as a model for inter-agency cooperation by facilitating intelligence sharing, supporting legitimate operations, and strengthening collective efforts to protect communities from illegal drugs.
