INIHAYAG ni Mayor Menchie Abalos na nag-aalok na ngayon ng tatlong bagong karagdagang kurso ang Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology (MCST) kabilang na ang Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Opisyal nang tinanggap ni Abalos ang certificate of program compliance (COPC) mula kay MCST Officer-in-charge President Dr. Jonathan Chiong para sa mga kursong Bachelor of Public Administration at Bachelor of Physical Education.

Samantala, mula naman sa Commission on Higher Education (CHED), ipinagkaloob naman ni Regional Director Jimmy Catanes ang nasabing certificate of program compliance kay Mayor Abalos.

Sa isang talumpati, sinabi ni Catanes na sapat ang kakayahan at mga pasilidad ng Mandaluyong College of Science and Technology na ialok ang mga nasabing kurso.

“May polisiya po ang CHED na hindi ito magbibigay ng COPC hangga’t hindi napapatunayan ng isang institusyon kapag wala itong pasilidad, walang mga estudyante, at walang kakayahan na patakbuhin ang buong apat na taon (mula first year hanggang fourth year) ng programa,” sabi ni Catanes.

Nagbigay din ng komendasyon si Catanes sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Mandaluyong dahil sa batay sa kanilang rekord sa CHED, pang-pito pa lang ang MCST sa hanay ng mga local universities and colleges (LUCs) sa buong bansa ang mayroong Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

Nagpasalamat naman si Mayor Menchie Abalos sa CHED sa patuloy na pakikipagtunlungan at ugnayan nito sa pamahalaang lungsod upang mas mapaigting ang sistema ng edukasyon sa Mandaluyong.
