Milk bank, pediatric hemodialysis sa MCMC ibinida ni Mayor Abalos

IBINIDA ni Mayor Ben Abalos ang pagtatatag ng isang human milk bank at pediatric hemodialysis unit sa Mandaluyong City Medical Center (MCMC) kamakailan.

Ang nasabing serbisyo ay isinabay sa pagdiriwang ng Safe Motherhood Week na ipinatupad ng City Health Department sa pamumuno ni Dr. Arnold Abalos kasama si Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos.

Ayon sa City Health Department, ang MCMC ay isa ng accredited ‘Mother-Baby Friendly Health Facility’ ng Department of Health (DOH) simula nang maitayo ang human milk bank.

Kabilang na rin ang MCMC sa iilang ospital na nangunguna sa pagpapalaganap ng breastfeeding sa mga ina, kahalagahan ng gatas ng ina para sa mga sanggol, at sa pag-iwas sa paggamit ng mga milk formula at anumang klase ng pacifier (maliban lamang kung kinakailangan).

Bilang karagdagan, kabilang na rin ang MCMC sa anim na DOH-accredited hospitals matapos mabuksan ang pediatric hemodialysis unit nito.

Sa kasalukuyan, tanging ang mga batang pasyenteng naka-confine lamang sa ospital ang bibigyan ng serbisyo nito at hiwalay sa matatandang pasyente.

Kapansin-pansin na dinisenyo ang pediatric hemodialysis unit sa MCMC na may mga manika at mga laruan para maalis ang takot o kaba ng mga batang pasyente na sasailalim sa dialysis.

Kadalasang sumasailalim sa dialysis ang mga pasyenteng mayroong Acute Kidney Infection (AKI) katulad ng leptospirosis, dengue, sepsis, o naka-inom ng labis na gamot.
