Cash gift sa may edad na 80, 85, 90, 95

NILAGDAAN na ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang batas na magbibigay ng ₱10,000 cash gift sa seniors kapag umabot na sa edad na 80, 85, 90, at 95.

Ang Republic Act (RA) No. 11982 o “An Act Granting benefits to Filipino Octogenarians and Nonagenarians” ay pagpapamalas ng pagpupugay at utang na loob sa mga Pilipinong may edad, ayon kay Marcos.

“To our active 80-somethings and lively 90-somethings, the expanded Centenarians Act confers upon you the thanks of a grateful nation that you have made strong and stable through your labors,” Marcos said in his speech during the ceremonial signing of the law at Malacañang.

Inamyendahan ng RA 11982 ang RA 10868 o ang “Centenarians Act of 2016,” na nagbibigay ng ₱100,000 cash gift doon sa mga umabot sa edad 100.

Samantala sinabi ni Sen. Bong Revilla, principal author ng RA 11982, “Taos-puso ko pong pinapupurihan at pinasasalamatan ang ating Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa pagsasabatas ng ating pangunahing panukala upang amyendahan ang Centenarians Law. Ang matagal na nating ipinapaglaban para sa ating mga lolo at lola ay tuluyan na nating napagtagumpayan.”

Bukod sa pinansiyal na insentibo, itinutulak din ng Pangulo ang pagkakaroon ng citizen-friendly na inprastraktura sa buong bansa.

Ayon sa 2020 datos ng Philippine Statistics Authority, mayroong 9,242,121 senior citizens, edad 60 pataas, sa buong bansa.
