Road accidents dahil sa nakalaylay na kable, iimbestigahan

INIHAIN ni Sen. Raffy Tulfo nitong Martes ang Senate Resolution (SR) No. 922 na
naglalayung imbestigahan ang mga aksidente sa kalsada sanhi ng nakalaylay na kable.


Labis daw na nakaaalarma ang pagdami ng mga aksidente sa kalsada sa buong bansa
sanhi ng mga kable na hindi namamantini.


“Victims of accidents caused by live cable wire mishandling often face significant
challenges in pursuing recourse against the negligent parties. The difficulties faced by
these victims hinder their ability to seek justice and fair compensation for injuries,
fatalities, and property damage resulting from such accidents,” ayon sa resolusyon.


Sinabi ng senador na ang electric companies, telephone companies, at iba pang
utilities na sangkot sa instalasyon, maintenance, at pamamahala ng mga kable ay
dapat bigyang priority ang safety standards para matiyak na masusunod ang lahat ng
regulasyon.

Idiniin din niya na dapat i-review ang charter at mandato ng MMDA, DPWH, at local
government units partikular ang city/municipal engineering office para matiyak na
tinutupad nila ang kanilang mandato. Ito ay para matiyak na hindi magdudulot ng
panganib ang mga nakalaylay na kable sa mga motorista at pedestrians.


Ani Tulfo, kinakailangan daw ang regular na inspeksyon at maintenance checks sa
lahat ng kable para makita at ma-repair ang mga potensyal na panganib sa publiko.
