INANUNSYO ng Globe Telecom Inc. (Globe) ang pagba-block sa 489,849 child pornography sites noong 2023, mas mataas ng 22 percent mula sa 401,487, noong 2022.

Ito ay dahil sa pinaigting na kampanya ng Globe para sa kaligtasan ng publiko, partikular ang mga bata at kabataan.

Na-disable ng Globe ang URL o Uniform Resource Locator ang lumaking bilang nang malalaswang websites na 486,802 o mas mataas ng 21.8 percent (2023) kaysa 399,550 (2022).

Nakikipagtulungan ang Globe sa gobyerno pati na rin sa iba pang stakeholders para mapahusay ang kakayahan nito na ma-detect at ma-block ang access sa child pornography, iba pang ilegal na websites at iba pang online platforms.

“We believe that a safer digital environment for our children requires a multi-pronged approach… Beyond blocking harmful content, we want to foster a culture of vigilance, awareness, and collaboration to protect the most vulnerable members of our society from the pervasive threats that lurk online,” ayon pa sa Globe.

Matatandaan na inilunsad ng nasabing kumpanya noong 2017 ang kampanya na #MakeITSafePH sa layuning masugpo ang kalakarang ito at batay na rin sa pagpapatupad ng Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009 (Republic Act 9775).

Sa nasabing batas, hinihilingan ang lahat ng mga service providers na gamiting ang teknolohiya upang mahinto na ang pag-aksis ng mga kabataan sa mga malalaswang sites at kasabay nito ay matigil na rin ang pagpapadala ng mga material kaugnay sa child pornography.

Inihayag pa ng Globe na gumastos sila ng kabuuang $2.7 million para paigtingin pa ang kanilang content filtering systems nang sa gayon ay lalakas pa ang kanilang kakayahan na hadlangan ang mga malalaswang websites.

Nakikipagtulungan din anila sila hindi lamang sa nasyunal at lokal na pamahalaan kundi ganun din sa mga internasyunal na mga organisasyon upang masugpo na ang child pornography.

Nangunguna ang Pilipinas sa mga pinagmumulan ng malalaswang online content kung may kinalaman sa seksuwal na pang-aabuso at pagpapalaganap nito, ayon sa National Center for Missing and Exploited Children nan aka-base sa US.
