PRC, agad tumugon sa biktima ng lindol sa Surigao

Mabilis na tumugon nitong Sabado ang Philippine Red Cross (PRC) 143 volunteers pati na
emergency medical services (EMS) nito para tulungan ang mga biktima ng lindol sa Surigao del Sur.


Matatandaang niyanig ng 7.4-magnitude na lindol ang probinsya pati na kalapit na lugar nitong Disyembre 2, 10:37 ng gabi.


Nanguna si PRC chairman at CEO Richard Gordon sa pagtugon sa naturang emergency.


Pagkalindol, agad na tinipon ni Gordon ang 143 volunteers at EMS at binigyan ng emergency treatment ang mga nasakatan at pagkatapos ay agad na dinala sa ilang ospital, kasama na ang isang taong nagkaroon nang malubhang pinsala sa ulo.

Nagpadala rin ng mga tauhan at rescue equipment ang PRC sa Surigao del Sur, Bukidnon,
Surigao del Norte, Davao Oriental, at Zamboanga del Norte.


Patuloy na nakikipag-coordinate ang PRC chapters sa rehiyon sa provincial at local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office para magkaroon nang tamang pagtaya sa sitwasyon.


Ayon sa operations center ng PRC, nagresulta ang lindol sa pagkawala ng kuryente sa San
Francisco at Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, gayundin ang sunog sa SM Butuan, bitak sa Bislig
bridge sa Surigao del Sur, at pagkawasak ng limang bahay sa Gingoog, Misamis Oriental.
