P30-k Multa sa gagamit ng EDSA bus carousel

INIANUNSYO ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Kahapon na
tataasan na nila ang multang ipapataw sa mga driver ng sasakyan, pati na motorsiklo, na
dadaan sa EDSA bus carousel lane simula sa Nobyembre 13.

Ayon sa MMDA Regulation No. 23-002 na inaprubahan ng Metro Manila Council, ang
multa ay para sa pribado at pampublikong sasakyan na ilegal na gagamit ng naturang
lane.

Sinabi ni MMDA Acting Chair Atty. Don Artes,”These EDSA bus lane violators will be
reported to the Land Transportation Office and penalties will be attached to the vehicle
owners.”

Mula sa dating ₱1,000 multa sa bawat paglabag, itinaas ito sa mga sumusunod:
1st offense: ₱5,000
2nd offense: ₱10,000, seminar, and one month suspension of driver’s license.
3rd offense: ₱20,000, one year suspension of driver’s license.
4th offense: ₱30,000, revocation of driver’s license.

Nilinaw ni Artes na hindi laban sa mga mahihirap ang kautusan o isang paraan para
magkapera ang gobyerno.

Tanging ang mga bus na awtorisadong dumaan sa EDSA carousel lane, pati na rin mga
sasakyang may pulang plaka o government vehicle, ambulansiya, at iba pang emergency
vehicles ang pwedeng dumaan dito.
