Tau gamma phi, sangkot muli sa hazing, Biktima namatay

ISANG 4 th year criminology student ang namatay dahil diumano sa hazing sa Quezon City.
Kinilala kahapon ng pulisya ang biktima na si Ahldryn Lery Chua Bravante, isang 25-anyos na
residente ng Imus, Cavite.


Sinabi ng pulisya na nakatanggap sila ng tawag mula sa Chinese General Hospital tungkol sa
kalagayan ni Bravante nang dalhin doon.


Ayon sa dalawang kasama ni Bravante, sumailalim ito sa initiation rites mula sa mga miyembro
ng Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity, Philippine College of Criminology (PCC) Chapter.


“After the initiation rite, the victim had difficulty in breathing and became unconscious. Hence,
they brought him to the hospital but he was declared dead on arrival,” ayon sa police report.


Sa paunang eksaminasyon, nakitaan si Bravante ng maraming pasa sa katawan, nagkaroon ng
hematoma sa dalawang binti, at paso ng sigarilyo sa dibdib at dalawang kamay. Nangitim din
ang mga hita nito dahil sa tila paulit-ulit na pagpalo.

Sumuko na rin ang dalawa pang suspect sa mga awtoridad.


Sinabi ng PCC na hindi nila pinapayagan ang anumang uri ng hazing o organisasyon na
nagsusulong ng mga illegal at bayolenteng gawain.


Sinabi ng ilang observers na nahugas-kamay lamang ang PCC dahil kung gugustuhin lang nila,
pwede nilang malaman ang mga aktibidades ng isang fraternity sa campus sa pamamagitan nang
isang pagsapi sa fraternity ng kanilang espiya o mole na estudyante rin.


Matatandaang nito lamang Hulyo, mahigit dalawang dosenang suspects na miyembro rin ng
parehong fraternity – ang Tau Gamma Phi – ang hinuli dahil sa pagkamatay mula sa hazing ni
John Matthew Salilig, estudyante ng Adamson University.
