MANIWALA kayo o hindi, P25 lang kada kilo ang benta ng bigas sa Negros Occidental!


Bilang pagtanaw ng utang na loob ng mga magsasaka sa tulong ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Negros Occidental, nagdesisyon ang grupo na ibenta ang bigas sa halagang P25 lamang bawat kilo.


Ayon kay Pedro Limpangog, pangulo ng Federation of Irrigators’ Associations Central Negros-Bago
River Irrigation System (FIACN-BRIS), hanggang limang kilo lamang kada tao ang pwedeng bilhin na bigas.


Dahil dito, dumagsa ang mga residente kamakalawa sa Bigas ng Bayan stall, sa Bacolod City Food
Terminal Market, na kung saan mabibili ang murang bigas.


Dumalo sa pagbubukas ng tindahan sina Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Benitez.


Dahil sa mahusay na track record ng FIACN-BRIS, umupa ang pamahalaang panlalawigan ng mga
magsasaka para magtanin ng palay, mag-aani, at magpo-proseso ng palay para maging bigas, sa halagang P12,000 bawat buwan, kada magsasaka. Ito ay bilang tulong ng gobyerno sa mga magsasaka na naapektuhan ng kalamidad.


Ang organisasyon ay mayroong 44 asosasyon ng irrigators sa Central Negros, at ibinebenta nila ang 10 percent ng inani sa halagang P25 kada kilo, hangga’t may suplay. Nakinabang na ang 455 mga pamilya ng lugar.


Ayon kay Benitez, nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa Department of Agriculture Western Visayas office para maipagpatuloy ang programa.
