NAAPRUBAHAN ng Senado sa ikatlong pagbasa ang Internet Transactions Act (ITA) nitong
Lunes.


Dahil dito, malapit nang makinabang sa ligtas na pakikipagtransaksyon online o sa internet nang
hindi nakukumpurmiso ang kanilang security at privacy.


Sa botong 20-1-0, ipinasa ng Senado ang Senate Bill No. (SBN) 1846, na naglalayung tiyakin
na ang lahat ng kalakal o produkto at mga serbisyo na ginawa online ay maibibigay nang tama,
ayon sa pagkaka-anunsyo nito sa internet. Tinitiyak din ng bill na ang lahat ng e-commerce
transactions ay maasahan, ligtas, at madaling abutin ng mga konsyumer.


Pinasalamatan ni Senador Mark Villar, ang sponsor ng bill, ang kanyang mga kapwa-senador,
matapos itong maipasa.

Ang SBN 1846 ay isa sa 20 priority bills na senertipikahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,
bilang “urgent” at inaasahang maipapasa ang mga ito bago matapos ang taon.


“Today, we achieved the approval of the Internet Transactions Act on its third reading, a great
feat for ITA which has been pending in this chamber since the 18th Congress,” saad ni Villar.


Ayon sa bill, pagmumultahin ang e-marketplace, e-retailer, online merchant, o digital platforms
na nagbebenta ng pekeng produkto. Ang multa ay P50,000 – P100,000 sa una at ikalawang
paglabag, at P500,000 – P1, 500,000 para sa ikatlo at susunod na paglabag.
