Walang Pinoy cadets sa China – Brawner

WALANG katotohanan.


Ito ang tugon ni Armed Forces chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. tungkol sa ulat na nagpapadala
raw ng Filipino cadets sa Chinese military schools.


Ipinaliwanag ni Brawner na hindi wasto ang report. Ang basehan nito ay ang memorandum of
understanding (MOU) on defense cooperation na nilagdaan natin at ng China noong 2004.


Ayon kay Brawner, sa ilalim ng MOU pinapayagang magpadala ang Pilipinas ng military
officers para mag-aral sa Chinese military schools o mag-training at makibahagi sa military
exercises ng China.


Kung tungkol sa kadete, walang kadete na ipinadadala sa China at kahit kailan, hindi tayo
nagpadala ng cadets para mag-training doon, maliban na lang sa ilang pagkakataon na
inimbitahan ang ating mga kadete para sa isang linggong pagbisita, dagdag pa ni Brawner.

Naalarma ang mga mababatas kamaikailan dahil sa naiulat na ilang kadeteng Pilipino ay
ipinadadala sa Chinese military academy, sa harap nang paulit-ulit na harassmemt ng China
coast guard sa barko ng Pilipinas na maghahatid sana ng supplies sa marines sa BRP Sierra
Madre sa Ayungin shoal.
