Philippine Red Cross magpapadala ng 228 winter tents para sa mga biktima ng lindol sa Turkey, Syria

MAGPAPADALA ng 228 na mga winter tents ang Philippine Red Cross (PRC) sa mga naging biktima ng nangyaring 7.8 magnitude na lindol sa Turkey at Syria noong Lunes, Pebrero 06.

Ang 228 na tents na ipadadala para sa mga residente ng Turkey at Syria ay nagmula pa sa warehouse ng PRC sa Mandaue City, Cebu at inaasahang maipadadala na bukas, araw ng Sabado, Pebrero 18 mula Manila papuntang Turkey.

Batay sa huling sa tala, umabot na sa 41,000 ang namatay sa nangyaring lindol sa southeastern Turkey at northwestern Syria.

Ayon kay PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon, makakatulong ang mga tent na ipapadala sa mga naapektuhan ng lindol upang maging pansamantalang tirahan ng ilang mga residente dahil kasalukuyang panahon ng taglamig sa bansa.

“We at the Philippine Red Cross will continue to communicate with our Turkish and Syrian counterparts under the Red Cross and REd Crescent Movement to monitor the further humanitarian needs of our brothers and sisters. Aid is on the way,” dagdag pa ni Gordon.

Bukod sa mga tent na ipadadala, nagbigay din ng financial aid ang PRC sa Turkey at Syria na umabot sa 100,000 US Dollars.

Idinagdag pa ng dating senador na patuloy pa rin siyang kumakalap ng karagdagang mga donasyon at humanitarian assistance sa ilang personal na kaibigan, PRC board members at ilang partner companies upang makatulong sa mga biktima.
