LUMIPAD kahapon si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. patungong Canberra, Australia para sa dalawang-araw na state visit.

Inaasahang magdadala ng tatlong nilagdaang kasunduan ang Pangulo pagbalik ng Pilipinas ngayong araw.

Sa Marso 4-6, muling pupunta ang Pangulo sa Australia para sa ASEAN-Australia Commemorative Summit sa Melbourne.

Sa kanyang departure speech, sinabi ni Marcos, “I will also have the opportunity to expand our wide-ranging cooperation with Australia through the formalization and signing of three agreements.”

Hindi nagbigay ng detalye ang Pangulo kung ano ang tatlong kasunduang lalagdaan.

Magkakaroon daw nang pakikipagtulungan sa ilang larangan para mapalakas ang “strategic partnership” na pakikinabangan ng dalawang bansa.

Magtatalumpati ang Pangulo sa Australian Parliament ngayong araw para talakayin ang ilang mahahalagang issues, kasali na ang patuloy na bangayan sa South China Sea.

“I hope to bring home with me a more robust, warmer, and closer Philippine-Australian relations… [and] acknowledge the ever-growing relations on defense and security with one of our only two Status of Visiting Forces partners as highlighted last year by the success of Exercise Alon and the Maritime Cooperative Activity,” pagtatapos ng Pangulo.
