DAHIL sa ginawang katatawanan ang pangalan ng Lungsod ng Baliwag sa isang
TV episode sa GMA-7, nag-react ang mayor nito.


Hindi nagustuhan ni Mayor Ferdie Estrella, Baliwag City (o Baliuag), Bulacan, ang isang eksena sa afternoon drama na “Abot Kamay Na Pangarap”, na kung saan si Jillian Ward ang bida.


Tinukoy ni Estrella sa Pep.ph ang isang eksena sa programang ipinalabas nitong Peb. 14, na kung saan si Moira Tanyag (Pinky Amador) ay naloka habang ito’y naka-bilanggo.


Nang nasaksihan ni Madam Lotus (Jackie Lou Blanco) na nagdediliryo na si Moira, nasambit niya: “Nagdedeliryo na [si Moira], akala mo may kaaway. Papunta na ito sa Baliwag, Bulacan.”

Sa eksena, ipinalit ang salitang “Baliwag” at ginamit bilang salitang balbal para palitan ang salitang “baliw” o naloloka.


Ayon kay Estrella, hindi dapat na ikonekta ang kanilang lungsod para maging tampulan ng katatawanan. Kabaliktaran ito ng tunay na kalagayan ng lungsod na maunlad, at may hitik na kasaysayang maipagmamalaki ng bansa.


Dahil sa reklamo ni Estrella noong Peb. 16, agad na gumawa ng aksyon ang production team ng GMA-7. Hindi malinaw kung nagpadala ang network ng official statement para humingi ng tawad.
