7 katao patay sa landslide sa Monkayo, Davao de Oro

Pito katao ang nasawi habang dalawa naman ang lubhang nasugatan sa naganap na landslide sa isang residential area sa Monkayo, Davao de Oro.

Kabilang sa mga namatay na biktima ang limang mga bata, habang limang indibidwal naman ang patuloy na pinaghahanap matapos ang naturang insidente.

Ayon kay OCD-Region 11 Director Ednar Dayanghari, agad na inilunsad ang search and rescue operations sa Purok 20 Pagasa sa barangay Mt. Diwata matapos ang insidente.

Gayunman, natigil aniya ang operasyon dahil sa matinding pag-ulan sa lugar.

Sinabi  pa ni Director Dayanghari na nagdadasal noon ang mga biktima bilang bahagi ng kanilang religious activity nang maganap ang landslide.

Nabatid na nakararanas ng pag-ulan ang Davao Region dahil sa shear line.
