Medical school para sa bawat paaralan ng LGU

NAPAPANAHON na para ang mga kolehiyo at unibersidad na pinatatakbo ng lokal na pamahalaan
o LGU ay magtayo ng sarili nilang medical school para mabawasan ang kakulangan ng doktor sa
bansa.


Ito ang panukala ni Senador Francis Tolentino sa isang radio interview sa DZXL-RMN Manila.


“Kapag may ospital at may paaralan ang pamahalaang lokal, dapat magkaroon na rin ng medical
school. Kasi hindi po sapat na magkaroon lamang po tayo ng gusali at imprastraktura kung wala
namang doktor,” paglilinaw ni Tolentino.


“Yung Batangas State University, nakatutuwa po…nasa second year na ‘yung mga nag-aaral (ng
medisina). Pa trenta-trenta lang muna na estudyante pero malaking bagay po iyon kapag (sila ay)
nakapagtapos,” aniya pa.

Si Tolentino ay dating chair ng Senate Committee on Local Government noong 18th Congress.
Binanggit niya bilang halimbawa ang Batangas State University (BSU) na mayroon ng sariling
medical school program.


Noong Huwebes, nanguna si Tolentino sa groundbreaking ceremony ng isang bagong ospital na
itatayo sa ngayo’y Vicente Mendiola Center for Health Infirmary sa Naga, Cebu.
