Gobyerno, makikinig sa hinaing ng rice retailers – Romualdez

IMPOSIBLE raw maipatupad ang price ceiling ng bigas na P41 at P45 bawat kilo dahil nakuha
nila ito sa mas mataas na presyo, hinaing ng rice retailers.


Sa harap ng problemang ito, tiniyak ni House Speaker Ferdinand Romualdez na makikinig sila
sa retailers ng bigas na apektado ng price ceiling na itinakda ng Palasyo.


“Hindi naman manhid ang gobyerno, kaya we want to listen to their concern and we’ll try to find
a solution doon sa pangamba nila na malulugi sila… Alam naman natin na mataas na ang kuha
nila sa traders. Pero siyempre, priority natin ang sambayanan na hirap na makabili ng bigas,”
saad ni Romualdez.


Tungkol sa isyung ito, sinabi ni Romualdez na nais niyang makipag-dayalogo sa rice retailers sa
buong bansa sa linggong ito.

Ipinag-utos kasi ni Pangulong Marcos noong Biyernes ang price ceiling na P41 per kilo sa
regular milled rice habang P45 sa well milled rice, sa ilalim ng EO 39.


Ayon sa retailers, nasa halos P50 bawat kilo ng bigas ang kuha nila mula sa traders.


“Hindi naman kasi pwede (na) ‘di sila sumunod sa utos ng Palasyo kasi bukod sa penalty, the
government can file criminal cases sa mga hindi susunod sa price ceiling na ito…pero definitely,
our government will help those affected by the EO,” pagtatapos ni Romualdez.
