THE Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has officially unveiled its final four official entries for its 52nd edition during a special announcement on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Shangri-La Plaza Main Wing in Mandaluyong City, completing the diverse eight-film roster for the upcoming Christmas screening.
The newly announced final four selections are:
- “Los Salvajes Bravos” (Historical Drama) – Directed by Paolo Dy, produced by JesCom Films, and starring Romnick Sarmenta and Ruru Madrid.
- “Little Hope” (Comedy-Drama) – Directed by Benedict Mique, produced by Lonewolf Films, and starring Yassi Pressman and Pepe Herrera.
- “Seeds of Peace: The Life of Fr. Rhoel Gallardo, CMF” (Documentary) – Directed by Rommel Galapia Ruiz, produced by the Claretian Missionaries, and starring Zaijian Jaranilla.
- “A Perfect Marriage” (Family Drama) – Directed by Dan Villegas, co-produced by Quantum Films and WASD Films, and starring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.
These films were chosen by the selection committee based on four core criteria: creative and technical excellence (40%), commercial appeal (40%), global appeal (10%), and Filipino values (10%). They join the previously revealed initial batch of entries to complete this year’s holiday cinematic showcase.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and MMFF Chairman Atty. Romando Artes welcomed attendees and reaffirmed the festival’s dedication to uplifting local cinema.
“Ang MMFF ay committed para suportahan ang pelikulang Pilipino,” Artes stated, expressing optimism for a strong turnout from moviegoers.
In addition to the film lineup, Chairman Artes outlined a packed schedule of pre-festival events.
A Celebrity Pickleball Tournament is slated for November 29.
Furthermore, following a student short film caravan launched in partnership with the FDCP and FAP on October 10—which heads to Bacolod City on October 20—the MMFF will stage a historic first by bringing its traditional Parade of Stars to Bacolod on December 12, coinciding with the Batang Pinoy games featuring 30,000 athletes.
The traditional Metro Manila Parade of Stars will follow on December 19, co-hosted by Mandaluyong City Mayor Carmelita “Menchie” Abalos and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, whose cities will house the parade route.
The festival’s main run in cinemas nationwide will kick off on Christmas Day, December 25, 2026, and will run through January 7, 2027, culminating with the Gabi ng Parangal awards night on December 27.
