The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is gearing up to showcase the nation’s premier vocational talent as the WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 competition officially takes center stage from September 7 to 11, 2026, in Pampanga.
Carrying the theme “Your Skills, Your Future,” the high-stakes event will gather approximately 350 elite competitors—each a top regional qualifier—to contend across 30 industry-driven skill categories.
The national competition serves as the country’s main proving ground to select delegates for regional and international WorldSkills events.
TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez emphasized that the diverse lineup underscores the agency’s commitment to aligning technical vocational education and training (TVET) with global standards.
“WorldSkills is a spectacle of Filipino talent, as we gather the nation’s most skilled youth in one big competition. Through WorldSkills, we inspire excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning,” Sec. Benitez said. “With 30 skill areas, we are showcasing the diverse talents of Filipino youth while preparing them to compete and succeed on the global stage.”
The 30 competition areas cover six key economic sectors:
- Information and Communication Technology: Cyber Security, ICT Network Infrastructure, IT Network Systems Administration, Software Applications Development, Web Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence.
- Manufacturing and Engineering Technology: Additive Manufacturing, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Mechanical Engineering CAD, Mechatronics, Welding, Industrial Control, Electronics, and Prototype Modelling.
- Construction and Building Technology: Electrical Installations, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Plumbing and Heating, Wall and Floor Tiling, and Carpentry.
- Social and Personal Services: Cooking, Bakery, Beauty Therapy, Hotel Reception, Restaurant Service, and Hairdressing.
- Creative Arts and Fashion: 3D Digital Game Art, Fashion Technology, and Graphic Design Technology.
- Transportation and Logistics: Automobile Technology.
Formerly known as the Philippine National Skills Competition, the rebrand fully aligns national standards with WorldSkills International.
The initiative directly responds to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s directive to foster industry-aligned skills, promoting productivity and stronger collaboration between government bodies, industry partners, and training institutions.
