A delegation of Taiwanese business leaders completed a five-day mission to the Philippines from July 27 to 31, 2026, aimed at bolstering trade ties, expanding local manufacturing, and strengthening regional supply chains.
Organized by the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Taipei (PTIC-Taipei), alongside the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association and the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), the visit focused on key sectors including technology, electronics, and advanced factory production.
Throughout the trip, delegates engaged with local government officials and industry leaders through factory tours, detailed briefings, and networking sessions designed to foster long-term commercial partnerships.
The initiative was supported by key Philippine economic agencies, including the Board of Investments, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, highlighting the nation’s rising status as an attractive hub for Taiwanese companies seeking Southeast Asian expansion.
“Strengthening industrial partnerships with Taiwan remains a strategic priority as we continue to position the Philippines as a competitive destination for high-value manufacturing and innovation-driven investments,” said PTIC-Taipei Trade Representative Anthony Rivera.
MECO Chairperson Corazon A. Padiernos underscored the broader impact of the mission, stating that regular collaboration creates critical avenues for investment, technology transfer, talent development, and the integration of Philippine enterprises into global supply chains.
The trade delegation forms part of PTIC-Taipei’s continuous strategy to drive foreign direct investment, modernize domestic industries, and generate high-paying jobs across the Philippines.
