Her international performance marks a major breakthrough in her career, tracing back to her roots under the Schools Division Office of Masbate Province (DepEd Region V).
Espenilla currently competes as an athletic scholar for Far Eastern University (FEU).
Representing MSA, school officials expressed immense pride in her journey from local grassroots sports programs to the world stage, emphasizing how structured support, education, and disciplined training pave the way for homegrown talents.
MSA extended special recognition to key leaders and sports bodies that supported Espenilla’s path, including Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara, DepEd Region V Director Gilbert T. Sadsad, Schools Division Superintendent Joel E. Caolboy, Masbate’s congressional representatives, the Provincial Government of Masbate, and the MSA team led by EPS/DSO Rufino B. Arellano.
Further gratitude was directed toward Far Eastern University Athletics, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) for funding and facilitating her national and international stint.
