US$37.2 Bilyon: 2023 Remittances ng OFWs

PINAKAMATAAS sa kasaysayan ng bansa!


Ganito inilarawan ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang 2023 remittances
ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) na umabot sa US$37.2 billion.


Ito ay mas mataas ng three percent mula sa naiulat na US$36.1 billion noong
2022.


“The robust inward remittances reflected the rise in the deployment of OFWs
due to the continuous increase in demand for foreign workers in host
countries,” ayon sa BSP.


Ang 2023 remittances ay kumakatawan sa 8.5 percent ng gross domestic product (GDP) at 7.7 percent ng gross national income (GNI) ng bansa.


Nanguna ang United States sa may pinakamataas na OFW remittances, sinundan ng Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Japan, at United Kingdom.

Ayon kay Michael Ricafort, chief economist ng Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, ikaapat sa pinakamalaki sa buong mundo ang remittances ng ating OFWs. Nangunguna rito ang India, Mexico, at China.
