Ito ang nadama nina Senador Pia Cayetano maging ng bawat miyembro at coaching staff ng Team
Philippines, nang talunin nila ang New Zealand sa score na 1-0, sa FIFA Women’s World Cup.


Si Cayetano ang pinuno ng delegasyon sa ginanap kompetisyon sa Wellington, New Zealand (NZ)
noong Lunes.


Kahit na matindi ang tensyon dahil sa hometown advantage ng New Zealanders, patuloy na nag-
focus sa laro ang mga Pilipina, sa tulong ng maraming Pilipino na naroroon, patuloy na sumisigaw
ng “Let’s Go Pilipinas!”.


Ang US-born Filipina na si Sarina Bolden ang nakapagbigay ng ‘coup de grace’ o fatal goal laban sa NZ. Ito ang ating kaunaunahang field goal ng bansa sa world cup.


Sinabi ni Cayetano na patuloy daw nating suportahan ang Philippines (rank 46) dahil haharap sila
sa mas mabigat na kalaban sa Hulyo 30, ang Norway (rank 12).
