Grocery discounts ng seniors, PWDs, taasan – Romualdez

₱65 lang na discount kada linggo.


Ganito lang ang nakukuhang discounts ng senior citizens, at persons with disabilities
(PWDs) tuwing bibili sila ng groceries.


Dahil dito, nanawagan si Speaker Martin Romualdez na dapat taasan ang naturang
diskwento para makinabang talaga ang sektor na ito ng populasyon.


“Seniors and PDWs are currently getting a far too modest discount of ₱65 on their
weekly groceries. We need to increase this,” ayon kay Romualdez.


Ayon sa Speaker, bumuo na ng isang technical working group (TWG) para i-review ang
Republic Act Nos. 7432 at 9994, pati na iba pang batas tunkol sa seniors at PWDs
discounts.

Ipinaliwanag ni Romualdez na sa kasalukuyan ang five percent na ibinibigay na
diskwento sa mga senior citizens at PWDs sa pagbili ng piling grocery items ay hindi na
angkop sa kasalukuyang takbo ng ekonomiya, dahil sa mataas na cost of living.


Limitado lamang sa hanggang ₱1,500 pagbili kada linggo o ₱65 discount ang pwedeng
makuha ng bawat senior o PWDs.
