Malaysia, Thailand, nalampasan ng ‘Pinas sa investments

TILA magiging maganda ang senaryo ng trabaho at pagnenegosyo sa bansa ngayong
2024.


Ito ang obserbasyon ng ilang ekonomista matapos na ilahad ni Department of Trade
and Industry (DTI) USec. Ceferino Rodolfo na nalampasan ng Pilipinas ang Malaysia at
Thailand sa pagpasok nang pamumuhunan o foreign direct investment (FDI) nitong
unang tatlong quarters ng 2023.


Sinabi ni Rodolfo na dumanas din ang Indonesia, Malaysia, at Thailand ng double-digit
na pagbaba ng FDI inflows nito sa parehong panahon, samantalang tumaas ng 2.25
percent ang sa Vietnam.


Mula Enero hanggang Setyembre 2023, ang net FDI inflows sa bansa ay umabot sa
US$5.88 billion; Malaysia, US$4.99 billion; at Thailand, US$4.44 billion.

Isa sa mga dahilan nang pagtaas ng investments sa bansa ay dahil sa patuloy na
paghikayat ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa mauunlad na bansa na mag-invest sa
Pilipinas, tuwing siya at bibisita rito.


“We are really hopeful that at the end of the President’s term, we would be the
second biggest destination of FDIs in Southeast Asia,” dagdag ni Rodolfo.


Ayon kay DTI Secretary at BoI Chair Alfredo Pascual, inaasahan ng bansa ang target
investments na P1.3 Trillion hanggang P1.5 Trillion na maaaprubahan para sa taong
ito, na lalong magpapasigla sa ating ekonomiya.
