140-K residente, makikinabang sa ika-200 SM health center

MAKIKINABANG ang 140,000 residente ng Sta. Cruz, Laguna matapos maitayo ang ika-200
health center ng SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI).


Kahit may mga sira na ang gusali noon, patuloy na naglilingkod si Dr. Elmina Montesa sa
lumang Sta. Cruz Rural Health Unit, pero nang tumulong ang SMFI sa konstruksyon nito,
nagbigay nang pag-asa, lalo na sa maraming maysakit, ang bagong health center.


Hindi lamang mga residente ng Sta. Cruz ang patuloy na pinaglilingkuran ng team nina Dr.
Montesa, kundi, pati na rin sa mga kalapit-bayan, partikular ang mga mahihirap.


Mayroon nang bagong gusali at pasilidad ang health center, bukod sa pinaganda ito at
nagkaroon nang mas malaking espasyo hindi lamang para sa mga pasyente kundi pati na rin sa staff ng health center.

Nakikipag-ugnayan din ang SMFI sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Sta. Cruz para lalong mapahusay ang serbisyo-medikal sa tulong ng dedicated staff nito sa pangunguna ni Dr. Montesa.


Ayon sa SMF, bukod sa pagpapatayo o pagsasaayos ng health centers, nagbibigay din ng
scholarship ang foundation sa mga mahihirap na kabataan.


Samantala, nagdiwang kamakailan ang SMFI dahil sa pagtatapos sa kolehiyo ng 397 scholars nito para sa academic year 2023.

Ayon kay Carmen Linda Atayde, SMFI Executive Director for Education Programs, sa mga
nagtapos, walo ang summa cum laude, 55 magna cum laude, 72 cum laude, at 26 ang academic distinction awardees.
