Clark Dev’t Corp., nais ang mas maraming EV investors

INIANUNSYO ng Clark Development Corp. (CDC) na ito’y positibo na makaka-engganyo
nang mas maraming manufacturers ng electric vehicle o EV sa Clark Freeport Zone.


Ayon kay CDC President at CEO Agnes VST Devanadera kamakailan na mayroon na raw
isang investor, isang kumpanyang Amerikano; pero kailangang pa raw ang mas maraming
investors.


“We have available area and you know, they don’t really require big sites. That is why we
want manufacturing and the information technology investment — they only require small
areas,” ayon kay Devanadera.


Mayroon na raw ilang banyagang mamumuhunan ang nagpakita ng interes na mag-invest
sa Clark, pero pinag-aaralan pa nila ang mga polisiya. Bukod dito, mayroon pa raw ilang
imbestor na Pilipino ang nagpakita rin ng interes.


Mayroon pa raw isang kumpanya na nagpakita ng interes, at seryoso siya na magtayo ng
pabrika ng electric motorclycles at electric golf cars, dagdag pa ni Devanadera.
Nitong unang bahagi ng taon, lumagda sa isang lease agreement ang US EV maker
Envirotech Vehicles, Inc. sa kumpanyang Berthapil, Inc., isang real estate developer sa
freeport, para magtayo ng isang planta rito.

“They want to move to Asia and they think that politically and in everything else the
Philippines is more stable than [in] other Asian locations,” ani Devanadera.


Samantala ayon sa ilang observers, ang sobrang taas ng presyo ng kuryente sa Pilipinas
ang pumipigil sa manufacturing sector mula sa ibang bansa na magtayo ng planta rito.

Dapat daw gumawa ng paraan ang gobyerno para maibaba ito katulad ng presyo ng
kuryente sa ibang bansa sa ASEAN.


Matatandaang maraming kumpanya na umalis sa China at lumipat sa Vietnam dahil mas
mura ang halaga ng produksyon dito, pati na rin ang presyo ng kuryente.
