P100 na dagdag sahod

GUSTO ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri na gawin na lamang na P100 ang across-
the-board wage hike na P150 na naaprubahan ng Senate Committee on Labor.


Nais ni Zubiri na pa-amyendahan ang panukala para hindi masaktan ang mga apektadong
industriya. Idinagdag pa niya na mas malaki ang posibilidad na maaprubahan ang P100
na dagdag-sweldo kada buwan, ng mga kasamahan niya sa Senado.


Nauna pa rito, inaprobahan ng Wage Board ang halagang P40 bilang dagdag sahod sa
mga sumusweldo ng minimum wage sa Metro Manila. Dahil dito, umalma ang labor
groups sa “sobrang liit” na dagdag-sahod.


Noong nakaraang Mayo, pumayag ang Senate Committee on Labor, Employment and
Human Resources sa panukalang dagdagan ng P150 ang minimum wage sa buong bansa,
pero hindi pa ito naging pinal.

Pinasalamatan ni Zubiri ang Wage Boards sa P40 na dagdag-sweldo pero aniya, hindi pa
ito sapat. Ayon pa sa Senador, hindi pa nito kayang bumili ng isang kilong bigas na
ngayon ay umaabot na sa P44-P45 ang pinakamababa sa palengke.


Nagbabalak si Zubiri na kausapin si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. para ipaliwanag ang
pagiging napapanahon ng legislated wage hike hindi lang sa Metro Manila, kundi maging
sa buong bansa.
