POLICE officers rescued two minor siblings allegedly subjected to severe physical and sexual abuse by their biological father during an operation in Barangay Napindan, Taguig City, on August 3, 2026.
The coordinated effort was led by the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Taguig City Police Station, acting on an official directive issued in late June.
Operating alongside the Barangay Napindan VAWC Desk and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), officers initiated the intervention around 3:30 PM and successfully secured the minors by 7:34 PM.
Investigations revealed that the 14-year-old girl had allegedly suffered repeated sexual abuse since June 2026, while her 12-year-old brother was subjected to physical abuse by their father.
Following their rescue, both children were immediately placed under the care of the CSWDO for protective custody, psychosocial assessment, and necessary welfare interventions.
Authorities are preparing criminal charges against the suspect, which will be filed before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Director PMGEN Anthony A. Aberin emphasized that law enforcement will maintain zero tolerance for crimes committed against children, particularly in domestic settings.
“The safety and welfare of every child must never be compromised—even within their own home,” PMGEN Aberin stated. “The NCRPO will continue to intensify efforts to protect minors and ensure that justice is served for victims of abuse.”
The NCRPO affirmed that it is maintaining close coordination with local government units and social welfare agencies to oversee the children’s recovery and rehabilitation.
The operation aligns with the Philippine National Police’s broader child-protection mandates aimed at safeguarding vulnerable sectors and ensuring swift judicial action.
